Heh! the Roald Dahl story of the poachers who soak raisins in rum, in order to stupefy the birds in their roost, comes to mind. I hear that elephants will seek out rotten fruit under trees in order to seriously party. Animals around beach resorts have learnt to scavenge drinks from deckchair tables .... it's all in the genes. While binge drinking is certainly nothing new - see how the Greeks and Romans used to treat alcohol - there is no doubt we have lowered the bar considerably by tolerating it in teens and sub-teens. We are stinky monkeys, we know no better.
